ABC News Other Services

ABC News Radio

ABC News Radio operates as the radio service under ABC Audio, a division of ABC News. Previously identified as ABC Radio News, this service distributes newscasts on the hour to its affiliates through Skyview Networks. It stands as the most extensive commercial radio news organization in the United States.

ABCNews.com

ABCNews.com was launched on May 15, 1997, through ABC News Internet Ventures, a collaboration between Starwave and ABC established in April 1997. Starwave had been the operator of ESPNet SportsZone (later rebranded as ESPN.com) since 1995, holding licenses for the ESPN brand and video clips from ABC’s corporate sibling, ESPN Inc.

Disney sought greater control over its Internet assets, leading to the formation of ABCNews.com as a joint venture where ABC News retained editorial control. Disney had acquired a minority stake in Starwave before ABCNews.com’s launch and later acquired the company outright. Initially, the website had a dedicated staff of approximately 30.

Alongside articles, it featured short video clips and audio from the outset, utilizing RealAudio and RealVideo technology. Some content was also accessible via America Online. In 2011, ABC News and Yahoo News announced a strategic partnership to share ABC’s online reporting on Yahoo’s website, and this collaboration expanded in 2015 to include the Disney/ABC Television Group. However, in 2018, ABC News, and specifically Good Morning America, concluded their hosting partnership with Yahoo, choosing to maintain separate web presences.

ABC News Live serves as a continuous 24/7 streaming video news channel, delivering breaking news, live events, newscasts, and more in-depth reports and documentaries. Launched by ABC News in 2018, the channel is accessible through various platforms, including Roku, Hulu, YouTube TV, Sling TV, Pluto TV, Xumo, FuboTV, and the news division’s additional streaming services.

The operations of this service are overseen by Justin Dial, Vice President of Streaming Content, along with Seniboye Tienabeso, Executive Director of ABC News Live, Chandra Zeikel, Executive Producer, David T Hatcher, Executive Producer, and Eric Ortega, Executive Producer.

This unit is producing:

It has since been replaced indefinitely. The program is currently anchored by Eva Pilgrim, and DeMarco Morgan and joined by ABC News chief medical correspondent Jennifer Ashton.
