Gabriel Attal is a French politician of the Renaissance (RE) party who has served as Prime Minister since 9 January 2024. Attal, born on 16 March 1989 in Clamart, Île-de-France, was raised in the 13th and 14th arrondissements of Paris with three sisters.

His father, Yves Attal, a lawyer and film producer, had a heritage that was half Alsatian Jewish and half Tunisian Jewish. His mother, Marie de Couriss, had French and Greek-Russian ancestry and worked for a film production company.

Attal enrolled in the École alsacienne, a private school in the 6th arrondissement. His involvement in politics began with his participation in the 2006 youth protests in France.
