Subsequently, she took on roles in various Portuguese series and films, including A Impostora, Filha da Lei, A Criação, and Jogo Duplo.
Her English-language debut occurred when she starred in the Netflix series Warrior Nun from 2020 to 2022. Baptista was born in Lisbon, Portugal, and her Portuguese mother met her Brazilian engineer father from Rio de Janeiro while working as a translator in Brazil.
She attended a German school in Portugal and decided to pursue an acting career around the age of 15. Her favorite childhood film was The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996). At 16, she began her acting journey as the main character in Simão Cayatte’s short film Miami, earning the Best Actress Award at the Festival Ibérico de Ciné for her performance.
Baptista continued to build her acting career by appearing in Portuguese series like A Criação, as well as in telenovelas such as A Impostora and Jogo Duplo. Her inaugural English-language role came as the lead character, Ava, in Netflix’s series Warrior Nun, which premiered on July 2, 2020. She also reprised this role in the show’s second season, released on November 10, 2022. In 2022, Baptista took on the role of Natasha, a Dior muse from the 1950s, in Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris.
